【ヴェネツィア】スクオラ・グランデ・ディ・サン・ロッコ③ Venezia - Scuola Grande di San Rocco Part-3
大広間の壁には、ユニークな木の彫刻が並んでいる。
これらは17世紀後半に、フランチェスコ・ピアンタによって作られたもので、ティントレットの像もある。
その表情は得意げで、”どうだ。私の書いた絵はどれも素晴らしいものばかりだろう。”とでも言っているようだ。
The walls of the hall are lined with unique wooden carvings.
These were made by Francesco Pianeta Il Giovane in the late 17th century and also have a Tintoretto's statue.
He is good at his expression and seems to say, "How is it? All the paintings I wrote are wonderful."
一見すると古い本棚だが、近寄ってみると、これも彫刻であることがわかる。

こちらは彫刻家だろうか。もしかしたら、ピアンタ本人の自画像かもしれない。
ピアンタの彫刻は、奇想に溢れていて、バロック期のヴェネツィアを代表する彫刻作品だ。

このスクオラでは、どうしてもティントレットの作品ばかりに目がいってしまうが、わずかながら、他の画家の作品も展示されている。
こちらは、現在の建物ができる前から、このスクオーラに展示されていたと言われる作品。
説明板にはジョルジョーネとあったが、ティツィアーノの作品という説もあるという。
ティツィアーノは、初めの頃はジョルジョーネの絵を熱心に学んでいた時期があり、この作品の他にも、どちらが書いたのか判別が難しい作品が数多くある。
In this scuola, I'm always interested in Tintoretto's works, but there are also a few works by other painters on display.

他に、ティエポロの作品が2点展示されていた。こちらは、天使に救われるアガーとイスマエル。
ジョバンニ・バティスタ・ティエポロはヴェネツィアに生まれ、バロック期に活躍した画家で、ヴェネツィア絵画の最後の巨匠と言われている。
独特な人物表現で知られている。その表現は、バロックというよりは、それ以前のロココ調の雰囲気が感じられる。

Giovanni Battista Tiepolo was born in Venice, a painter who was active during the Baroque period, and is said to be the last master of Venetian painting.
Known for his unique personal expression. The expression has a rococo-like atmosphere before that, rather than baroque.
こちらは、天使の訪問を受けるアブラハム。
今回の旅では、残念ながら、ティエポロの作品はそれほど目にする機会がなかった。
期せずして、このスクオラで、2点ながらティエポロの作品をじっくりと味わうことができた。

Unfortunately, I didn't have much chance to see Tiepolo's work on this trip.
Unexpectedly, I was able to thoroughly enjoy Tiepolo's work with two points in this squara.
このスクオラの1階から2階へ上がる階段は、壁の両側や天井には巨大な絵が描かれていて、まるでオペラハウスの壮麗な階段のようだ。
この階段は、スカルパニーノの設計によるもの。両側にはバロック期の画家、アントニオ・ザンギとその弟子の手によって、1630年にペストに襲われたヴェネツィアの様子が描かれている。
思わず、階段を登る足の速さもゆっくりとなり、その雰囲気を少しでも長く味わいたくなった。
