【フィレンツェ】フィレンツェの小さな教会 Firenze - Small church in Firenze

 

フィレンツェで滞在したホテルは、ベッキオ橋を渡ってすぐの通り沿いにあった。

その通りに小さな教会があり、観光のたびにその前を通っていたが、何となく気になっていた。

フィレンツェを離れる日に、思い切って中に入ってみることにした。

The hotel I stayed in Florence was on the street just across the Ponte Vecchio.

There was a small church on the street, and I passed in front of it every time I went sightseeing, but I was curious about it.

On the day he left Florence, I decided to take the plunge.

ドアを開けて中に入ると、小さいながら、厳かな雰囲気に包まれた空間が広がっていた。

建物は古そうだが、内部のライティングなどは綺麗に整えられていて、管理が行き届いている教会のようだ。

おそらく、この教会は多くの信者たちによって支えられているのだろう。

When I opened the door and went inside, I found a small space surrounded by a solemn atmosphere.

The building looks old, but the lighting inside is neatly arranged and it looks like a well-managed church.

Perhaps this church is supported by many believers.

後で調べたら、この教会は、サンティ・アポストリ教会という教会だった。

これまで、ドゥオーモ、サンタ・クローチェ教会、サン・ロレンツォ教会などの大きな教会ばかりを見てきたが、このような小さな教会は、フィレンツェには数多くあるのだろう。

I found out later that this church was called the Santi Apostoli Church.

So far, I've only seen large churches such as the Duomo, Santa Croce, and San Lorenzo, but I'm sure there are many such small churches in Florence.

中央の祭壇には、聖母マリアと幼児イエスを中心にその横に聖人たちが描かれた、古そうな祭壇画が恭しく置かれていた。

この教会の情報によると、この祭壇画は、1382年にヤコポ・ディ・チョーネとニッコロ・ディ・ピエトロ・ジェリーニによって描かれたという。

ヤコポ・ディ・チョーネは、サンタ・マリア・ノヴェッラ教会でその作品を見た、アンドレア・オルカーニャの弟にあたる人物。

ニッコロ・ディ・ピエトロ・ジェリーニとは、共同で制作することが多かったという。

On the central altar, there was an old-fashioned altarpiece with the saints drawn next to it, centered on the Virgin Mary and the infant Jesus.

According to information from the church, the altarpiece was painted by Jacopo di Cione and Niccolo di Pietro Gerini in 1382.

Jacopo di Cione is the younger brother of Andrea Orcagna, who saw the work at the church of Santa Maria Novella.

He said he often collaborated with Niccolo di Pietro Gerini.

たまたま立ち寄った教会で、ルネサンス初期のオルカーニャ派の祭壇画を目にすることができた。

I happened to stop by to see an early Renaissance Orcagna altarpiece.
