【ローマ】ヴァチカン ピオ・クレメンティーノ美術館② Roma - Musei Vaticani, Museo Poi-Clementino Part-2

 

ピオ・クレメンティーノ美術館には、ギリシャ神話の神々や、古代ローマの皇帝たちの恭しい彫像が並んでいるが、そうしたものばかりではない。

動物の間、と呼ばれる小さな部屋の中には、多くの動物の彫像が置かれている。

The Pio Clementino Museum is lined with reverent statues of Greek mythological gods and ancient Roman emperors, but not all of them.

Many animal statues are placed in a small room called "Animal Room".

子豚に授乳する雌豚の彫像。

古代ローマの詩人、ヴェルギリウスが詩に唄った”ラウレントゥムの雌豚”がテーマになっていると考えられている。

他の彫刻とは色合いが異なっているが、ギリシャのパロス島の大理石が使われている。

It is believed that the theme is "the sow of Laurentum" sung by the ancient Roman poet Virgil in the poem.

The color is different from other sculptures, but the marble from Paros, Greece is used.

愛らしい子供を表現した彫像もあった。

それぞれ、ギリシャ神話のエピソードなどが表現されているのだろう。

解説パネルを読むまでもなく、写真だけ撮って何気なく通り過ぎてしまったが、一体、何が表現されているのだろう。

ねじ曲げられた体、引き締まった体の筋肉の表現がとても印象的だ。

ミケランジェロの彫刻作品を連想してしまう。

I didn't have to read the commentary panel, I just took a picture and passed by casually, but what on earth is it being expressed?

The expression of the twisted body and the muscles of the toned body is very impressive.

It reminds me of Michelangelo's sculptures.

次の部屋に進もうと思っても、向こうの方まで人々の列が続いていて、なかなか進まない。

もうこんな時は諦めて、人の流れに任せるしかない。
